The game we know as bingo is thought to have originated in Europe, and the early games were first played in Italy in the 1500s. The French later adopted the game, and it was a hit among the wealthy elite in the country. Later in history, bingo was used by the Germans to teach basic arithmetic and language skills to children.

Regular bingo players can tell you all about such terms as blackout, four corners, face, coverall and other such terms. There are even books written specifically for bingo players, and there are tournaments where the top bingo players gather to vie for the biggest prizes.

One of the greatest things about bingo, however, is the luck factor involved in the game. Everyone starts with the same odds of winning, and that is one of the things that make the game so popular year after year.
