Playing Bingo

While bingo is primarily a game of luck, there are a number of things players can do to increase their odds. We have all seen all those good luck charms and other tactics regular players use, and they may provide some psychological benefit. The tips included in this article, however, are more practical in nature.

*Do not play more cards than you can keep track of. While those play all the cards for one price deals can be tempting, if you lose track of your cards you may miss out on a win.
*Use your dauber with a light motion. Daubers work best with a light touch; if you bang your dauber down it may leak, making it harder to keep track of your cards.
*Paper bingo cards with lower card numbers often have numbers closer together. The card number is typically found on the free space of the card. For more success in coverall games, a good strategy is to arrive early and try to get the first set of cards. The cards on the top are often those with the lowest numbers.
*Be polite to other players. While excitement is understandable, it is rude to yell out the numbers you need for a win.
*A courteous touch is to buy a card for a neighboring player once a night. This generosity can come back to you many fold over the course of the nights.
*Always be willing to share the wealth when you win a game. Buying cards for others, or tossing a lucky dollar, can have great benefits.
*Try to play on the slower nights, typically Monday through Thursday are slower than the weekend. Obviously the fewer players the higher the odds of you winning. Bingo is a game of chance; use this knowledge to tip the odds in your favor.
*Do not gripe about your cards or your numbers. Everyone has bad nights now and then; continuously complaining will only annoy and alienate your fellow players.
*Be sure to bring a roll of tape along. Often times special games are played on single strips which must be purchased separately. These strips will be easier to daub if they are taped together. The tape should be placed on the back, not the front. If the tape is placed on the front, the ink will smear when the cards are daubed.
