Rulide is an antibiotic used mainly in the treatment of bacterial infections. It belongs to the group of medicines known as macrolides and it has a large range of action. Before starting any antibiotic treatment it is important to clearly identify the type of infection and the germ that is behind it; failure to do so may lead to an over-infection or the development of resistance to Rulide.
Rulide Information
Doctors usually prescribe Rulide for several bacterial infections of the respiratory tract such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis in the acute form, or even pneumonia. This medication is also known to work very well against some skin infections such as impetigo and urethritis. However, Rulide should never be used for viral infections such as the flu.
Rulide should be administered fifteen minutes before meals, on an empty stomach, or three hours after eating. This latter case is preferable since Rulide works better when there is no digestive efforts underway on the part of the stomach and absorption is quick and effective. The period of administration ranges between five and ten days, but it is for the doctor to decide that.
Nevertheless, like with all other antibiotics, Rulide may trigger an improvement in your condition after two or three days of administration. However, it is important that you do not stop the treatment as the infection is not over yet. Some of the bacteria is gone, but the infection flare up worse than before. Consequently, take Rulide for the prescribed duration.
In order to prevent the destruction of the friendly bacterial flora in the system, try to include as much yogurt as you can in your diet. Rulide exposes you to the risk of developing candiditis, therefore, support of probiotic cultures during the antibiotic treatment is more than welcome. Only use dairy products that read "live bacterial cultures" on the label.
