Google Alert is a free service which automatically does daily searches for you on Google. What this means, is that Google Alert will automatically do a particular search for you on Google without you having to go to Google each time that you want to do a particular search. Not only this, but it will inform you just of the new sites that are registered by google for a particular search.

For example if your area of interest was New Zealand tomatoes then you may want to find out each time Google recorded a new page on the internet which was about New Zealand tomatoes. Google Alert would email you each time there was a new page in the top 50 results which was about this topic

Google Alert at present is a free service and although free, does not have any adverts or sell or use your email address for any other purpose than to send you your results
