Google Alert

Google Alert is a great service. Not only because it is free, but also because it does what it says on the box. That is, that it gives you automated searches on search terms that you are able to choose. It lets you keep a daily supervision on the top 50 search results meaning that it is unlikely that you will miss any new mentions of a subject that you are interested in observing. It is especially useful for webmasters to keep an eye on their sites and what others are saying about them! It does seem a shame though that at this time you are only able to observe the top 50 results. It will be surprising if it stays free for ever and will be interesting to see what new features are added.
