Elocon Precautions and Side Effects

* Never use Elocon for a longer period of time than it has been prescribed to you by the doctor, as extended use may impair proper functioning of glands that produce hormones.
* In some cases there have been reports of skin conditions including pimples, dryness, excessive hairiness, or infection of the hair follicles.
* In some rare cases, tingling and stinging occur causing mild discomfort.

The best way to avoid many unwanted side effects is to wrap the treated area in bandages immediately after using Elocon. The rash or inflammation needs to remain in open air in order to prevent excessive drug absorption into the blood stream. Avoid tight diapers, plastic pans, and airtight dressing after applying Elocon.
