Relax your nerves. If you are a nervous person practice nerve relaxing techniques the entire length of the speech, i.e. even up until the day of the speech. You can practice breathing techniques, exercise, and so forth to prepare for your speech while reducing stress.

You want to try and stay positive. Try to reward you each time you finish a part of your speech. Rewards often make a person feel confident, and will promote them to try harder.

As you write your speech also consider the outcome of the speech. For instance, are you including visual aids? If you want the audience to pay attention, you should add videos or visual aids that will help the audience grasp your meaning. You will also need to consider body languages since this is an important part of the speech. Practice your signals daily so that you will be prepared.
