Cramming To How To Be A Public Speaking Star Self Help
November 23rd, 2008

Now it is time to write your speech as you prepare for the big day. If you skip any items on your checklist to complete your speech, likely you will fail. You will need to apply some cramming strategies, yet realize that balance is needed in all areas of life to receive a good result.

During the process of writing your speech you will need to make good decisions, create sound plans, create mind maps, recite to you puke, relax your nerves, and avoid thinking negative.

While writing the speech you want to consider all the key points that will make the speech workable. The key points are the start, which will take you to the point of each keyword. During this time you should read materials that will enhance your speech. In other words it is time to research the topic to find facts that will support your speech.

You should have your plan laid out already, which will include what you want to come of your speech. During the planning you can setup deadlines in which you feel you can meet, as well as considering what you want to write, what points you want to make, the timeframe you will allow you to start, work through and finish the task. Remember, effort brings forth good rewards.

Now you can use the mind map strategy and use flash cards to map out the main ideal of the speech. In other words you will use the mind to draw out keywords, and note them accordingly. This should include visual aids, since visual aids can enhance any speech. For instance, if you are speaking on the topic how to become a public speaking star, you might use visuals that point out body languages that effectively drive a speech.

Recite is one of the better choices of getting the facts driven into your brain. The more you recite the more information will come available, which can enhance your speech. If you want to remember your speech record the recites loudly into a tape recorder and play them in the morning and as you fall to sleep. This will integrate the notes into your mind. You can also use the tape recorder to play back the speech to hear how you sound. Practice, practice, practice…recite, recite, and recite some more. The more you listen to your speech the more you will get a feel of how you will speak on stage.

Relax your nerves. If you are a nervous person practice nerve relaxing techniques the entire length of the speech, i.e. even up until the day of the speech. You can practice breathing techniques, exercise, and so forth to prepare for your speech while reducing stress.

You want to try and stay positive. Try to reward you each time you finish a part of your speech. Rewards often make a person feel confident, and will promote them to try harder.

As you write your speech also consider the outcome of the speech. For instance, are you including visual aids? If you want the audience to pay attention, you should add videos or visual aids that will help the audience grasp your meaning. You will also need to consider body languages since this is an important part of the speech. Practice your signals daily so that you will be prepared. In view of that, while giving the speech; apply some sense of humor periodically throughout the speech to lighting the mood. People like to laugh, and if you are talking serious all through the speech, people will feel tense
