What you will find in this guide is an explanation of the different aspects that need to be understood in order to build and publish a website on the internet. What I am not going to do, is to delve into programming or the deep aspects of design. Most people learn this the hard way by experimenting and hunting around for information. I am hoping that this article will take the mystery out of building a website, and make it an accessible task for all.

You may think of a web-site as a collection of documents that link and interact with each other. For example, this article itself could have been similarly done in a Word Document, but it wasn't as it is on the internet!

Some advantages of building a website are:

• It can potentially be viewed very easily by millions of people all over the world

• It can be linked to, linked from and there can be links between the different pages

• Due to a lot of control on the element of graphic design it can be made to look very decorative and easy to read for visitors
